Virtare Cares – December 2

Effective health monitoring helps discover and address previously unknown patient needs. This week’s Virtare Cares story is a great example of how that happens:

Earlier this week our nurse Sandra was reaching out to a member for some compliance issues and in doing so was able to hear that this member was really going through some tough times with her work environment – feeling anxious, stressed, and even depressed.

Sandra could have seen that this member was already receiving Behavioral Health sessions and left it alone. But that’s not what “keeping the human touch” in our services means. She went the extra step and saw that she could connect the care by reaching out to our specialist, Beth, to share what she witnessed on her call.

Beth then followed up with Alyssa who was having monthly sessions with this member. Alyssa reached out to this member and spent extra time on a thorough call to really hear what was going on and share coping skills along with other important therapy.

She could tell that this member would really benefit from more frequent sessions and when she asked if the member would like to increase her calls to weekly they immediately responded, “Yes, I would love that.”

We’re happy to have been able to help this member receive the care they needed when they needed it, and proud of our team for always going above and beyond to keep the human touch in healthcare!
