Virtare Cares – October 28

Recently Laura was on a phone call with a member who has been participating in our Enhanced Clinical Management program. Nurse Natalie noticed that her heart rate and blood pressure were increasing.

She had previously been diagnosed with hypothyroidism but was now experiencing a big change in her symptoms and for about a 6-week period of time, she did not feel well. Her symptoms were sent to her PCP, and she was referred to an endocrinologist.

Trying to get into this specialist would have taken months, but Natalie sent her recent vitals data over to the referred doctor’s office and they were able to see her that week. She was diagnosed with Graves Disease, received appropriate medication, and 4 days into her new medication she is feeling significantly better.

She said, “If I hadn’t been involved in this program, I would have been stuck”.

She now reports that she is feeling markedly better, as she has been able to receive a diagnosis, change her diet, and start taking appropriate medication. Her condition can decrease her life span and she is grateful for the help she has received. She credits her involvement in our program, and Natalie’s hard work and follow-up for her improved health.
